About Me

I’m a teacher, a writer, an editor, and a reader. I teach creative writing, composition, professional writing, and developmental writing (read- grammar.)

I also write creative nonfiction and sometimes get something published. Most often I just get rejection letters that I dutifully file because some day I’ll be able to make my own recycled paper house from crushed up and hardened rejection slips.

During my free moments, I practice yoga, not as regularly as I should.

My parents are still married and lovely, and my beautiful brother maintains this great website for me, a feat which I’m sure prompts his gorgeous wife to give him frequent massages and acupuncture treatments. (Did I get everybody in and include a positive adjective for everyone?)

That’s me. So if you have more personal questions, think carefully about whether you want to know the answers, and if you still do, write me at andilit@gmail.com or use this form.

Thanks for reading.

    Andi,
You have constructed an admirable website that offers us glimpses into the life and art of someone doing what she truly enjoys and seeing that passion manifested in something unique and beautiful in a medium desperate for art.

    Hey, Andi,
I’m applying to grad schools right now for my MFA in poetry and/or nonfiction writing. I stumbled on your blog after googling “the hermit crab essay.” I’m really interested in this subgenre. Let me know how your experiment goes with the hermit crab essay/tutorial.

    Best,
    Bethany

Wow, even aside from the name, we’re eerily alike. Except I have a dog. :)

How, may I ask, is one to know you are female – aside from Mr Thanner’s comment on 7th May, 2007? I didn’t think your writing showed the sometimes obvious bent of femininity, nor does your photo. Maybe I have to read all your blogs to find out. One wonders, too, if you read these comments.

Hey andi, I have to confess that having talked a number of times, while I knew you were an English teacher, I never realized you were also an active writer. I’m guessing maybe you didn’t know that about me, too! I think we even write in the same general stylistic universe. Just wanted to make the connection, and maybe we can even stay in touch. What is your current book that you’re working on about?
